tips and strategies for 12-14 month olds
Below are gross motor milestones that children 12-14 months olds should be meeting. To go along with these gross motor milestones, some basic tips and strategies are included to help your child meet these milestones.

TIPS/STRATEGIES:
- Practice transferring from sitting to 4-point position and progress from 4-point to tall kneeling. From tall kneeling move to half kneeling and finally to standing.

- Begin giving child 2 hand held assist, progressing to single hand assist, until no assist is needed.

- Begin giving child 2 hand assist, progressing to single hand assist, until no assist is needed.
- Have child utilize push toy for walking.
- Have child stand and push laundry basket around the house.

TIPS/STRATEGIES:
- Place toy on first step until he/she is able to get the toy. Once able to get toy off first step, move toy up to second step and encourage child to climb up to get the toy.
