Below are gross motor milestones that children 15-18 months olds should be meeting. To go along with these gross motor milestones, some basic tips and strategies are included to help your child meet these milestones.

TIPS/STRATEGIES:
- Assist movement and give support as needed.
walks up 4 steps without support
TIPS/STRATEGIES:
- Begin giving 2 hand held assist, progressing to single hand held assist until no assistance is needed.
walks backwards 5 steps
TIPS/STRATEGIES:
- Encourage child to walk backwards with use of a pull toy. Demonstrate to child walking backwards with the pull the toy if needed.
with support only from adult's finger, walks down 4 steps
TIPS/STRATEGIES:
- Begin giving 2 hand held assist, progressing to single hand held assist until no assistance is needed.
beginning to walk walk quicker for up to 10 feet
TIPS/STRATEGIES:
- Play chase games, such as racing your child to a toy or walking faster away from child and asking them to come get you.
